Our lead baker Josephine is making a limited number of made-from-scratch Lemon Poppyseed Cakes for Mother’s Day, and this one feels like spring! The cake is soft and fluffy with a light, airy texture, brightened with real lemon in every layer and just a subtle poppyseed bite. It’s layered with our housemade strawberry filling and finished with a smooth, lightly sweet buttercream that ties everything together perfectly. It’s fresh, balanced, a little nostalgic, and really, really good.

Cakes are available in two sizes.

  • The 5" cake serves up to 8 people ($12.50)
  • The 8" cake serves up to 22 people ($35)

All cakes must be picked up in person between Friday, May 8 & Sunday, May 10, 2026 during store hours!

Pickup location is The Book Club at 5735 Johnson Drive, Mission, KS.
